His favorite time to kiss her is when her lips are cracked, chapped and bleeding. He loves the taste of her blood, so perfectly red and shiny….A tart bite of metal is what it tastes like. Sometimes, he hides her lip balm. Her lips split, blood pools at the surface, and he kisses her, letting her blood mingle with his saliva. Whether or not she realizes he kisses her more frequently when her lips are in such a bad state, he doesn’t know.

Keanu doesn’t like to think of it as sadism. It’s more like a small fetish. And even that’s a strong word for it.

When he realizes she’s got a paper cut on her lip—what paper was doing that close to her mouth, he doesn’t know…it brings him back to filming The Lake House and writing letters; maybe she was licking an envelope—he cups the back of her neck and draws her in. He’s always disappointed when the blood stops flowing and a scab forms. Later, he knows, he’ll be tempted to nibble at it. And what better way to get the blood flowing than heated kisses?

That night, he makes sure to grill some tomatoes. It’s a lazy cook out night with just some peppers, onions and steak on skewers. Plus the tomatoes. The acid, he’s sure, will sting her lips. She’ll suck them in, trying to get rid of the pain, and it’ll make him crazy. Later, he’ll tell her he couldn’t help himself.

After dinner, he spends the next few hours kissing her, moving her hair from her neck, breathing her name, touching here and there. It’s not uncommon for them to do this. He kisses her gently, promising to kiss away the acidic sting from the tomatoes. She doesn’t mention the pain after.

She goes to bed before he does. He wants to finish watching a movie.

“Isn’t it enough that you make them? I’m so sick of movies,” she laughs, trailing her bathrobe tie behind.

He just grins, tells her to go to bed, that he’ll be up in awhile.

Just before she’s fully asleep, she thinks she hears some commotion in the kitchen. She figures he’s just cleaning up and rolls over before letting sleep take over entirely.

When Keanu arrives upstairs, he strips off his shirt, smiles at the sleeping figure on the bed. For some reason, though he doesn’t know why, he holds the knife behind his back. She’s sound asleep, of course, and isn’t likely to wake up, but…. Stranger things have happened.

He reaches the bed and kneels by it, while she still sleeps quietly, facing him. Again, a smile stretches his lips and he brings the knife forward.

Keanu is careful to slice only her lips. He doesn’t touch her blushing cheeks or minty-fresh gums. She doesn’t wake up as he slides the knife across her upper lip. Just licks, makes a face, and presses her face into the pillow, leaving a bloody stain. He moves on to her bottom lip, making a horizontal line with the blade.

She doesn’t wake then, either. A heavy sleeper. He’s always loved that about her. Keanu leans over and presses his lips to hers, sharing her natural paint. He comes away with lips stained red, as if he was wearing lipstick, and he lets his tongue dart out to taste her.

Hi, I haven't checked this community for a while, so I only noticed your fictions today. I read all three and they were interesting. I hope you'll write some again soon! I'm not so into Keanu/vampire though lol!

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Hmm, I'm bummed it came across as vampire. I was trying to do a more fascination with blood/masochism thing, but I guess it didn't sound like that. Thanks for the crit.

I always found blood-letting kind of fascinating in a non-vampirish kind of way.

This piece is a very interesting amalgamation of dark-ish theme with soft-ish feelings. Kinda unique!
